DAILY SCHEDULE

Daily Schedule: Consistent, predictable routine helps young children feel secure and increase their confidence about interacting in their environment. We have designed a program that is consistent without being rigid. Each day includes teacher directed and child initiated activities, a balance of inside and outside time, active periods, quiet periods, individual periods, and group experience. No child is forced to do any activities.

7:00 - 8:30 a.m. Arrival: Greet families and children individually. Help children put away belongings, select a quiet activity or have breakfast, and clean up.

8:30 - 8:45 a.m. Circle Time: Morning songs, calendar, share news, zoo phonics, and talk about the day.

8:45 - 9:00 a.m. Transition Time: Bathroom.

9:00 - 10:00 a.m. Small Group and Choice Time: lead a short, small group activity such as: singing songs, finger play, stories, and activities that build on children's skills and interests. Work with children engaged in study activities (zoo phonics, counting, and colors). Guide children in selecting interest areas. Observe and interact with individual children, extend their play, as well a their learning.

10:00 - 10: 15 a.m. Transition Time: Clean up and encourage children to help put away materials in each interest area.

10: 15 - 10:30 a.m. Snack Time

10:30 - 10:45 a.m. Transition Time: Clean up and bathroom.

10:45 - 11 :00 a.m. Prepare to Go Outside

11:00 - 12:00 noon Outside Time

12:00 - 12: 15 p.m. Transition Time: Wash hands for lunchtime.


12:15 – 12:45 p.m. Lunch Time

12:45 - 1:00 p.m. Transition Time: Clean up, bathroom, and prepare for napping and quiet time.

1 :00 - 3:00 p.m. Quiet Time

3:00 - 3:15 p.m. Transition Time: Wake up from nap, put away cots, bedding, and go to bathroom / wash hands.

3:15 - 3:30 p.m. Snack Time

3:30 - 3:45 p.m. Transition Time: Clean up from snack.

3:45 - 5:00 p.m. Outside

5:00 - 6:00 p.m. Quiet Time: Computers, stories, puzzles, art, play dough, and parent pick- up
